On 24 June 2025, YES and Microsoft hosted the National AI Skilling Day at Gallagher Estate, Midrand, marking a key milestone in the National AI Skills Initiative.

The event forms part of the ongoing YES x Microsoft partnership aimed at equipping young people with future-ready digital skills in fields such as AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. This is a programme that includes Microsoft’s recent commitment to provide 50,000 free certification vouchers to South African youth.

The day featured AI Fundamentals training, career orientation panels, and the YES Expo Zone, where youth explored emerging careers in tech and interacted with future-focused innovations like VR goggles, a 360° camera, and the YES AI Booth.

This initiative reflects YES’s mission to unlock access to meaningful jobs and learning pathways for young South Africans in high-demand sectors.
